Breakwater Metaland is currently seeking to employ an Estimator experienced in steel fabrication and the key duties and responsibilities of the role include:
- Communicate with customers regarding fabrication sales enquiries, quote requests and follow ups.
- Read & understand customer engineering drawings, building plans or specifications to quantify materials, labour and equipment required to accurately generate quotations.
- Use estimation software and tools to perform calculations and generate quotations.
- Schedule & monitor your jobs through the production process including confirming material availability.
- Track all costs against project estimations including tracking variations and/or rectification works.
- Ensure all commitments you make to customers are fulfilled.
- Manage & develop relationships with customers by identifying opportunities & offering exceptional customer service.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to adapt your style to suit a variety of customers from both trade and office environments.
- Attention to detail with the ability to meticulously review project documents.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Relevant experience and proven success as an estimator/project coordinator.
- Proactive attitude towards learning and professional development
- Experience with Microsoft Office suite of products.
Advantages:
- Strong knowledge & understanding of steel fabrication processes, structural design principles, and Australian industry standards related to steel construction.
- Experience in CAD software for reviewing drawings and generating take-offs advantageous.
- Strong working knowledge of estimation and/or project management software such as Bluebeam, Planswift or similar.
